“Who Am I?” is an six-session introductory course on the teachings and practice of two great traditions: Vedanta and Buddhism. The first sessions will be devoted to Vedanta and will include discussions on the non-dual nature of reality, the four yogas, some prominent teachers of Vedanta, and devotional practices. The last sessions will be devoted to Mahayana Buddhism and will be based primarily on the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. They will include discussions on basic Buddhist principles and will incorporate mindfulness practices.
The purpose of this class is not so much to inform as to deepen our practice. The sessions will be interactive and participatory, so bring your devotion, eagerness, and experience!
No prior knowledge is required. Each session will begin with a half hour guided meditation based on the particular tradition begin studied.
