Our Spiritual Ministry Team consists of Unity Minister Blair Tabor, Shara Moscinska, Craig Steven Phillips and Ministry Director Mary Jeanne Hawes. The Spiritual Ministry Team has a shared vision to serve the Unity of Tustin community; each has a distinct role to play in realizing that vision.
REV. BLAIR TABOR
Rev. Blair Tabor is an ordained Unity Minister of forty years, accomplished speaker, composer and musician. He retired from Unity San Diego three years ago. He currently serves as the Administrative Director for the Unity Church of Alhambra Foundation which provides scholarships for aspiring Unity ministers and Licensed Unity teachers, as well as grants for regional youth activities. He serves various ministries as a musician.
His role on the Unity of Tustin Spiritual Ministry Team is to be the speaker at one Sunday service per month as well as teach classes and serve as our ministerial representative whenever needed. His experience as a Unity minister and his knowledge of Unity principles and teachings is invaluable in guiding and informing the Spiritual Ministry Team.
Shara has been fostering spiritual development in self and others as a teacher and psychotherapist for 20 years. She was part of the inaugural class of Richard Rohr’s Living School, a 2-year program focusing on Christian Mysticism and Nondual Consciousness. She is a graduate of Robert Waterman’s Quimby Amenti Mystery School and Noetic Balancing Practitioner program, courses of study she also taught at Unity of Albuquerque. In addition, Shara received her MA and later taught the Psychology of Consciousness at Southwestern College. Shara’s approach validates the inherent divinity of life, affirming that as we attune to our inner and outer unfolding while centering in Spirit, life becomes a coherent expression of meaning, evolution, and service to the world.
Her role on the Spiritual Ministry Team is to be the speaker at two Sunday services per month, teach classes and conduct small groups. Shara is the representative for contemporary Christianity and consciousness teachers on the Spiritual Ministry Team.
CRAIG STEVEN PHILLIPS
Craig has been practicing and teaching Taoist and Buddhist meditation, as well as leading classes on the Tao Te Ching, Qigong and Tai Chi, for the past 36 years.
In 1988, he describes coming across the Tao Te Ching, “the most important book” he ever read and maintains that it contains “everything you will ever need to know about living your life in the effortless flow of the Present Moment.”
In addition to being an interfaith Minister, he was ordained into Buddhism by the Dalai Lama in 1997. He is also the author of The Buddha’s Dog and Living in the Flow: Reminders for a Supremely Happy Life. Craig’s mission is to serve the Tao by serving others in their healing and awakening, and finding their own authentic path back home to the present moment, where happiness and peace await as surely as the breath we are taking right now.
Craig’s role on the Spiritual Ministry Team is to speak at one Sunday service per month, focusing on Eastern teachings and weaving those teachings into the perennial philosophy at the heart of all religions.
