The Enneagram has many benefits for personal and spiritual growth. After learning the basic personality types, this advanced class delves deeper into relationships, spiritual direction, shadow issues and other insights offered from the study of this ancient system of personality typing. Working knowledge of the Enneagram is required.
Richard Long has studied and taught the Enneagram since 1994. This is his twelfth year of teaching at Unity of Tustin. Richard and his co-teacher, Colette Rodriguez, are both members of the Enneagram Association of Southern California.

Practical Enlightenment: Practices for an Awakened Life

Sally Kempton, “one of the great realized teachers on the meditation path” according to Ken Wilber, calls meditation a “love affair with your innermost self.” During her forty years as a meditator and teacher, Sally has taught countless students not only the practice of meditation but also the application of yogic wisdom in everyday life.
In her first visit to Unity of Tustin, Sally presents a two part workshop. On Saturday, the focus will be “Practical Enlightenment: Practices for an Awakened Life,” exploring teachings and practices for waking up and aligning yourself with the evolutionary impulse that lives within each of us. In addition to meditation, contemplation, movement, partner work and voice dialogue, workshop includes:
• How to shift your energy from stuck states to awake states
• Tuning in to your awakened self The difference between the egoic self and the true self
• Finding your own best doorways to enlightened energy – the ones that really work!
On Sunday afternoon, the topic will be “Love, Spirit and You: A Radical Approach to your Relationship with Spirit.” Drawing on the insights and practices of the various devotional traditions as well as key developmental maps, you will learn to break through habitual patterns that limit our on-going relationship with the Beloved. Workshop includes:
How cultural patterns and psychological issues affect our relationship with Spirit – and how to get beyond them.
• What it means to see the divine in another.
• The inner secrets of deity practice
• What is spiritual love at different levels of consciousness?

Lessons in Truth was written at the end of the 19th century by homeopathic physician and New Thought teacher H. Emilie Cady. It is a clear and concise series of lessons (in the form of chapters) that detail the foundations of Unity teachings and metaphysical principle. Since its original printing, over 1.5 million copies of Lessons in Truth have been sold, making it probably one of the most influential and widely-read books in the Unity movement.
Our class will focus on the teachings in the book and how they apply in your life. It is a continuation of our series on Unity foundational teachings.
This class is offered for Spiritual Education and Enrichment (S.E.E.) credit through Unity Institute. Attendance at all five classes and completion of all assigned coursework is required for credit.

Integral Theory and Practice

At Unity of Tustin, we have sought ways to connect to deeper truths, to achieve well-being and harmony and to realize our highest potentials. Integral practice is a way to develop to your fullest capacities, toward a freedom that incorporates all the aspects of your life: relationships, work, and spirituality. Some of the benefits for using Integral Life Practices (ILP) are: finding and living your deepest purpose, loving and caring for yourself and others more fully, communing with life, the universe, and Spirit, to name just a few.
Come join us for an introductory course in Integral theory (AQAL). This 6 week class is based on Ken Wilber’s book Integral Life Practice and will provide you an embodied understanding and experience of his theory and life practices. This will be the first course in a series of advanced integral teachings and practices.
We will be using AQAL(all quadrants, all levels) as a map of consciousness, giving you a set of tools for designing your own personalized life practice. You will learn to live “transcend and include”.
This class will be taught by Debbie delaCuesta and David Nowe. Both have studied Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory. Debbie has completed the Integral coursework required for Integral certification along with Susanne Cook-Greuter’s Leadership Maturity Framework, and Cindy Wiggleworth’s Spritual Intelligence coaching.
We will be using Integral Life Practice by Ken Wilber as our primary text. It offers a comprehensive review of Integral theory along with engaging and practical ways to live this consciousness. This class will close to new members after the second meeting.

Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry is re-forming in response to a request for a forum for male spirituality expressed at the recent Strategic Visioning Summit. This ministry will be led by Unity of Tustin Board Member Tim Truitt who brings experience in facilitating men’s groups. At this introductory meeting, the group will develop an on-going schedule and discuss options for topics to be covered. Topics will include:
- Men supporting men to win in their lives
- Living your higher purpose
- Discovering and dissolving the barriers that keep you from being the man you always wanted to be
- Celebrating the differences between men and women
- Community service
- Building relationships with others based on trust
This Men’s Ministry will offer a sacred circle of confidentiality and trust for men to explore their spirituality and foster initimacy with others on the spiritual journey.

This book, called “jewels of wisdom from Nityananda”, includes commentary by Swami Chetanananda. These sacred words from an Indian saint who lived from the late 19th century to 1961 are powerful transmitters of spiritual energy. On February 1, this class will host Vedic astrologer Chakrapani Ulllal who was a longtime disciple of Nityananda.
